London water contractor laura (alice handoll) pulls up outside the house of mrs. barton for a routine plumbing inspection. everything seems quaint until mrs. barton catches laura sneaking precious jewellery into her tool bag, but laura is not alone. someone is waiting in the back of the van for laura to return, and mrs. barton's hand is forced into a difficult decision.

as the production designer for this short-form film, I was tasked with creating an interior living space for the london water van, and the graphics for the exterior of the van. through a process of dismantling the script and answering questions around laura's lifestyle and experiences, i created three collage sketches for the van interior, paying attention to all the details that would build a picture of her life as a travelling con-artist risking any means to survive.
